Intermix Art Residency

This body of work emerges from three months of research into the memories and aesthetics of childhood in Saudi Arabia during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The practice is moving between collage, drawing on canvas, stitching and painting.

Drawing from personal archives, family photographs, childhood journals, and the shared visual culture of the period, the work explores childhood as layered and still very much alive.

At its centre is the image of the house- not as architecture, but as a portal. Cut from canvas, stitched back together, painted and repainted, the house becomes a way of returning to fragments of memory that never fully left.

At the heart of the work is a collaboration between the artist and her younger self — approached with curiosity and care.
